Dream Holiday Destinations

I love to travel and have already embarked on many holidays to North America, Asia, and Europe. Some of these have already fulfilled some of my dream holidays, such as soaking up Broadway, getting lost at the Grand Canyon, and visiting the historic English sites. I've frozen at Niagara Falls, partied in Las Vegas, and dined at the Eiffel Tower.
However, there is still so much more that the world has to offer. These are some destinations that I'm dying to still visit.

1. Scandinavia

Scandanavia is indeed my top holiday destination. I set part of my novel Rivenhall Manor in Lapland, Finland, and really hope to visit the wilds of Finland one day to see the reindeer and Santa Claus's Village. Almost a Princess has led me to do a lot of research into the current and historic royal families and with the Swedes as my favourite, I would love to see the Swedish Castles. Then there are the Norwegian and Danish palaces as well. Not to mention sailing the gorgeous Norwegian fjords.

2. Russia

There's just something about Russia that calls to me. I'm not sure what it is, but I do have quite a fasination with Russian culture. Part of Rivenhall Manor is also set in Russia, so I would love to visit one day. And with my love for royal palaces, some of the best are in Russia. I cannot wait to see the Summer Palace and the beautiful cascading fountains. Then there is the amazing artwork that is housed in the Hermitage Museum and my desire to see the Bolshoi Ballet at the Bolshoi Theatre. Hopefully while I'm there I'll also be able to do some research for my dream novel, which will be set in Russia.

3. Italy

I've always had a fascination with ancient history and Rome, therefore I need to walk these ancient streets one day. I don't need to list the amazing sites I wish to visit in Rome as they are some of the most famous in the world. I also would love to visit Florence and see the real Statue of David. I was stunned by the replica at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. And I wouldn't mind visiting Venice either, I suppose.

4. Ireland

Ireland has many beautiful sites and ruined castles to satisfy even my interest for them. But it's the natural beauty of Ireland that I wish to soak up. The rolling green hills, amazing cliffs, and famous stones.

5. China

China has many amazing sites, but there's really only one thing I want to do in China - a three day trek along the Great Wall, exploring parts not all tourists see and camping in the wilderness. It sounds amazing and it's the only way to see so much of the wall up close. Then I'll unwind by ticking Shanghai Disneyland off my list.
